PonyRider, the Taycan gearbox has a mechanical system of fixed ratios using gears/cogs unlike most CVTs that use a belt system on variable sized pulleys. Porsche have made their own gearbox in-house rather than using an outside supplier. Of note is that the front drive unit is a single speed and the rear a two speed. Like other all-wheel drive electric vehicles, the front and rear motors are different and each optimised for different vehicle speeds and regeneration.
