Here's a thought - how about if facelifts were judged using the standard models instead of the more glamorous ones? Starting from the FE through to the HK Belmont, here are the base models beloved by taxi drivers, government departments and cost accountants. The standard Falcons for some reason never looked as stark as GMH's, probably because there was always a chrome finishing strip around the windscreen. Chrysler never offered a base Valiant, nor did BMC with the Freeway and 1800, although they did make one stripped out 1800, vetoed by everyone.
