I was lucky enough to own a VH Charger 770, Hemi 265, four-speed manual in Citron Gold (see photo) and suitably dressed for the era with Afro hair, platform shoes, and flared pants. Prior to that I owned an AP5. Those were the days when could have your Charger custom built. I chose the R/T dashboard as opposed to the standard Regal dash. My choice of accessory was a factory built and installed under dash air conditioning unit. Apart from that I also had installed a four-speaker stereo system and a “Salvado” sunroof. Loved that car! My brother-in-law, Gary Gray, was the top selling Chrysler salesman in Australia having personally sold in excess of 55,000 of all the Valiants sold in Australia starting in 1963 with the Chrysler Valiant (AP5) and ending in 1981 with the Chrysler Valiant (CM). Oh, how I wish I still owned that VH Charger 770! What a shame that all Australian built cars from Chrysler/Mitsubishi, Holden, Ford and Toyota are no longer being manufactured here. We are the poorer. When it came to Bathurst I was a Holden man! Who do you barrack for today? It's just not the same!?!
