The first power steering equiped I do remember being in was an Australian 1956 Dodge Kingsway Coronet. Family friends bought it new - it was equipped with optional power steering, and also had Powerflite auto transmission. It was fully loaded, in a faint metallic blue and it had tinted windows too. Even though bodily wise it was out of fashion, but it must have been one of the first Australian cars with power steering, even though it was an extra. Ford offered it on the '57 Customline, but I don't think it GMH made it available on the Chevrolet for some some time.
