Don't get me started on water resource (mis)management in this country! Arrgh. I think you're right there David. In fact, I think the imported mix of cars would have been pretty much the same without Australian-made cars. However, I reckon the light commercial vehicle segment would have presented some challenges without all the car-derived utes and panel vans produced locally by the big three. I think we might have seen vehicles like the tough Peugeot 203, 403 and 404 pick-ups in far greater numbers here, much like Africa.
