Growing up, my tradesman father always had a ute; FE Holden, HD Holden, VK Dodge and finally an XF Falcon. The Dodge was the most refined but also rusted into oblivion before our very eyes. The HD apparently survives somewhere, the FE is at my brother's house and I have the XF. There is nothing else quite like them any more. The Ranger et al exude more truck than sedan, at least in appearance, and I do not know if the saying 'to church on Sundays and the pigs to market on Mondays ' is applicable to them. I am holding onto my two(including the developing HQ).
