Yes, it is a private import 1974 1750, with rod change and all the improvements that should have been on the original. In London at Sprinzels, because of all the strikes in British Leyland and in other industries, such as the miners, we couldn't get enough of them. They were only made at Cowley, and were in short supply whereas Ford could import Cortinas and Escorts from their factories in Europe, which were better made than those that came out of their British factories. BMC/Leyland got brilliant use of the 1800 doors - this was taken with much difficulty as there aren't too many Kimberleys, 3 Litres and Maxis in any country except New Zealand to get a photo op. Lucky with the BMC rego plates - normal Queensland issue from around 1992.
