Bit late in the day, but there were differences in how the Mark 2 3.8 was promoted in the US, UK and here. The American ad I posted a couple of weeks ago, rightly gives the impression of how the car would go on a straight road - ready to be opened up with foot flat to the floor. The Americans even called it a Sports Sedan. In contrast, in brochures and magazine ads, the 3.8 was seen outside stately homes or with the Horse and Hounds Country Life set. If seen in motion, the Brits gave the impression it's pretty sedate. Brysons photographed the car at rest in what looks like Melbourne's Botanic Gardens.
