Enjoyed the article John. One more thing the Thunderbird introduced, I believe, is the purely cosmetic vinyl roof (for better or worse). I have been told the 1962 Landau coupe (such as the one I own) was the first mass-produced car to feature one. Of course such roofs became more and more popular as the decade wore on.
