I have owned about 20 Datsuns in my life starting with a 1962 Bluebird. All were fantastic, unbreakable cars though I tried hard enough. The L motor in all its sizes is a testament to Nissan engineering. My current 1969 Datsun 1600 is in the shed, be 50 next year, still going strong and a joy to drive. It has the L 18 motor, 240Z five speed, 240K brakes....everything is interchangeable with Dattos. My mates son just bought a 280Z...now he wants a Z car himself ( at 58 years of age). He has caught the Datsun 'disease'. Worldwide there must be more Datsun enthusiasts than any other Japanese brand. Values are going up...but I will never sell my mighty 1600!!
