Oh dear, the 4-pot Mustang sure has stirred up some feelings for us die-hard Pony Car lovers, but I saw an interesting comment in one of the car magazines, which said that if the only Mustang available was a good performer 4-cylinder, we would think it is pretty cool, and it out-performs the Toyota 86. Both RWD, both 4-cyl. However, most of us have had (or are having) the experience that is so hard to explain to the non-believers, of the sweet burble or roar from a bent eight motor. If you once owned a V8, but sold it to get a 4-pot, you might enjoy the economy, but there will always be something "lacking", something you miss a lot, the unmistakeable rumble of a VEE-EIGHT ! Put that motor in a Mustang, and you are living the legend, and enjoying the ultimate satisfaction.
