I have owned and still own a number of convertibles and am confident in saying that the reality sometimes fails to meet expectation. My 1969 Camaro convertible lacked the rigidity of a coupe and the engineers found it necessary to put a heavy vibration damper in each corner after removing the roof (the cocktail shakers). The back seat could be a pretty unpleasant place to be at speed with the roof down. I'm sure the Firebird built on the same platform would be the same. Old MGs on the other hand are expected to be drafty and leaky and never fail to live up to this expectation. Perhaps thats why l like them!
