One oddball vehicle that was plentiful in the 1970s and '80s and has all but disappeared is the Suzuki LJ50 4x4 (LJ stood for Light Jeep). It only weighed about 700kg and was powered by a tiny but efficient 540cc three-cylinder two stroke engine. Available in either soft-top and hardtop body styles, they were very popular at the time particularly in rural communities where they suffered very hard lives in the toughest conditions and usually with minimal (if any) maintenance. They were treated like disposables I guess and as a result few have survived. I owned one in the early 1980s and had so much fun in it. Would love to see a nice original one today but sadly I don't think they exist.
