At that time, the Mk 2 Ford Cortina was showing good potential. Here is mine at Amaroo dirt circuit in 1971 for set up testing, with twin 40mm DCOE Weber carbs and a mild cam. The 40s were better suited than the 45s, giving a flatter torque curve. The only problem I had was the tendency for the gear lever to dislocate - the cheap nylon retaining nut was useless and was replaced with a machined aluminium one.
