Hey mate. As I said, my first bike (after learning to ride on everyone else's) was the SR500; but within a few months of buying that, I was offered an A10 BSA, which I rode to work for a year in 1980, then parked up and left until 2019........ I got rid of the 900SS in 92, and only because I married a woman who made me get rid of it, as "too dangerous". She wasn't around for long, so about 1993 I tried a HD sportster, as was cheap enough. I just didn't get it/wasn't me, and as I am tall, would have had to spend a fortune on fwd controls etc etc, and I didn't really like it that much. So in 94 I sold that and bought a 74 Triumph Trident T150v with a 1,000 Hyde kit in it. That FLEW, but Tridents need a LOT of fiddling with. I rode that from 94 until about 2007, when I let the rego run out. That same year, I wanted to get into bikes more, but mob I was riding with did high mileage weekends in the South West of WA; so I bought a year old (2006 model) Hinckley Bonneville (T100, 865cc twin) ; so I could have "get on and go/keep up with new bikes for long stints reliably". In 2016, I wanted an Indian to "see what a cruiser was like before I got too old/knees give out/can't hold one up"; but Indian just made it too hard. Every time I looked they either changed model spec/couldn't get what I wanted/dealers popping up and down here and there. Harley made it far easier and cheaper, so I got a demo 2016 Softail Deluxe for half the price of an Indian, and if I ever decide to sell it, I'll get almost what I paid for it. I hardly ever ride now, as "got old"; but like having the bikes. The BSA "needed a birthday" in 2019; that turned into a full resto; and while it cost a lot to overhaul EVERYTHING (not a single bolt/nut left undone/refurbed); it cost me half what the last 3 A10's sold for at Shannons auction, so I would get it back. I rego'd it in 2020; and now the Trident has the engine out/full frame strip/powdercoat etc etc, so that will be as good as new as well. So, to recap, I have 1962 A10 BSA 650, 1974 T150v Triumph 1,000, 2006 Triumph T100, 2016 Harley Softail Deluxe. I took the BSA to a Xmas ride last December. There were 800 bikes there. Mine was the oldest, and only BSA. Only other bike near that was a 1971 Honda 4. Every other bike was 1980's onward. I have 4 cars as well, 69, 76, 76......... and 2007. But that's another story. Cheers mate.
