Great topic! I love a vinyl roof on a big, luxury car. I think many of them needed something to help break up the vast areas of sheetmetal. I used to have a gold coloured Landau with a brown vinyl roof. It doesn't get more 70's than that! The vinyl roof really set that car apart from the other coupes of the era. Currently I have a '69 Eldorado that has a "halo" vinyl roof. You can see that the vinyl doesn't go all the way to the edge of the roof, leaving a one inch strip of paint framing the doors and the top of the windscreen. This is how these came from the factory and I think the effect is stunning.
