Nothing to do with the festive season, but these books were given to me over various Christmases, by well-meaning aunts, much to my mum's frustration. She thought I should broaden my mind with non-car books, but on the day they'd arrive in their A40s, Minxes, Huskys and Prefects and I've thanked them ever since. Like their cars, the books were all British, the Golden Picture Book more than jingoistic with sentiments to young kids like me that British cars were the best in world, no question. Fortunately, living in the bush, my family didn't throw much out, so these have survived. Racing cars on the covers obviously worked in selling them!
