The only problem I have with left foot braking is with the Austin 1800. When you drive an older car, you have to give plenty of room in traffic for an emergency. So, the left foot tends to hover above the pedal with the result that it touches the pedal more often. Friends travelling behind have said that my brake lights come on more than normal. The result is worn pads before their time. I don't have that problem in the VF Commodore. The only auto vehicle I couldn't left foot was my Mazda E2000 Van. The steering column is placed on the left of the brake pedal which prevents getting my size 12s across. No problem in adjusting to the van or the 1800 if I went from one to the other.
I wrote this four years ago in the forum, and it still stands. One thing though - when my parents owned the 1800, the brake pedal rubber was worn on the bottom right after 40,000 miles. Another 50,000 miles and I wore it on the bottom left corner. By turning the rubber upside down, I've got another 40,000 miles out of it..... One thing's for certain after taking this pic, is that the pad needs replacing (I have a spare) and the carpet needs a good clean.
