We ran about 6 car carriers between mainly Syd-Melb carting Ford products in the early 60's. From the Syd plant we moved the Escorts, Capris and Ford trucks, back loading with Falcons, Fairlanes and Cortinas. Prior to that from the Homebush plant most of the freight went to the Ford plant at Geelong. Galaxies, early model Cortinas, Zephyrs, Compact Fairlanes, even a short run of RHD Mustangs also came out of Syd. In the early days of interstate Dad took a load of Ford Prefects and Anglias, along with a Leyland bus chassis to Perth. But I've also got a photo of the early Customlines as bodies only. That's a Leyland Comet with 90 HP Dad was driving then. The other is Dad's Ford Hercules with Customline and Perfect bodies at the Ford Plant in Homebush very early 50's. I should add the return trip to Perth took 10 weeks.
