johncochrane38, this may be what you're referring to. Rather than being a road test, it seems to be a review of the FE Holden in one of the British magazines by someone calling himself 'JL'. Again, slightly condescending, but underneath it all, an admittance that it was a very good car for the market it was aimed at. In early 1956, BMC Australia brought a heap of British motoring journalists to have look and appreciation of what was going on in this country. They are inspecting the truck assembly plant of UK Motors in Brisbane and also the pool where they were staying as it must have been a typically hot and humid trip for them.
