Imperative, an excellent and informative post, thanks for that information ! Yes you are spot on with regards Mustang Panels availability. A mate of my mechanic was restoring a '65 Convertible from a bare shell upwards, and was able to buy NEW floor panels ! Of course anything 'after market' has a few hiccups but only a couple of minor adjustments had the panels fitting perfectly. . Also I concede that I may have been incorrect regarding Chev motors in Toranas, I can see now where that would be allowed with the similar GM Specifications. Bowe's Torana is pure Holden in the body shell and all panels but he must have been given some lee-way to allow the engine upgrdade, and like you say, Jimmy Richard's big Javalin might have needed some concession to allow the 390 Motor. He is back racing his Falcon Sprint 289 V8 now, I think the Javelin suffered a few battle scars too many, especially in one bad prang. Steven Johnson's Mustang below:
