This might surprise some but one of the most engaging cars I've driven in recent years was the last of the VFII Commodore SS-V utes I tested for a CarsGuide review back in 2016. The guttural roar of that big 6.2 litre LS3 V8 combined with a slick-shifting six-speed auto, wide tyres, big brakes and FE2 suspension was just laugh-out-loud fun!
