'Lark, these debutantes for 1960 were at the October 1959 Earls Court Motor Show and might be suitable choices. They probably won't get you out of your GM comfort zone, but here goes. The Ford Popular wasn't new for that year, but the name was. Ford recycled the Anglia name on their new reverse-rear window 105E. It was the first year Britons saw the Moskvich and it has a bit of a Ford look about it. The NSU Prinz apparently gave high performance at low cost, even if the initials don't stand for Nippy, Snappy and Useful.
