The Ford Popular wasn't new for that year, but the name was. Ford recycled the Anglia name on their new reverse-rear window 105E. It was the first year Britons saw the Moskvich and it has a bit of a Ford look about it. The NSU Prinz apparently gave high performance at low cost, even if the initials don't stand for Nippy, Snappy and Useful.
