My most memorable schoolteacher was a fellow called Warwick Taylor who was 26 or 27 in 1963. He wore stovepipe trousers and pointy-toed shoes, had long peroxided blonde hair and drove exciting cars. I particularly remember a black Morris 850 (I don't know he fitted it!) and a Studebaker Golden Hawk. There has always been something about Studebakers, at least since the Raymond Loewy era that has made them stand apart from the crowd. Other unforgettables include those rectangular quasi-Euro Lincoln Continentals and my all-time American favourite, the Buick Riviera (1964-65 vertically stacked quad headlights). I also love the four-door T-Bird from 1966-69 (or so).
