It's interesting to ponder the survival rate of 20-30 year old cars JW. Your image of the dreaded Ford Taurus raises an important point. The Taurus (1996-1998) and the much maligned AU Falcon (1998-2002) were both in Ford showrooms at around the same time, yet there's still lots of AUs grinding around with odo readings well into six figures and not a Taurus to be seen. Fact is, Ford sold a lot of AU Falcons, their servicing costs are cheap, parts are plentiful and they are so tough and durable that keeping one on the road even today is quite economical. I don't think a Taurus can claim to share any of those attributes. In fact, it could well have passed the point of extinction by now. I mean, why would you keep one on the road?
