In 2007 I bought in Wagga Wagga an original Fiat 124. Beige with tan upholstery, both original, and without rust thanks to the climate out west. The suspension needed re-bushing, new shocks were added and the twin choke Solex was rebuilt which made a real improvement to the performance. Undergeared is an understatement! On today's roads 80 kph with 3,300 rpm on the (added) tacho made driving any distance very tiring. But on the twisty bits, what a lot of fun! I made the mistake of fitting 175/70 tyres to the period sports rims (see photos) which did not complement the handling. I passes the car on to a Fiat enthusiast from Melbourne in 2012 who was viewing Auto Italia in Canberra. A few weeks later I drove the car to Winton where it was handed over. It was a good classic Fiat and I hope it is still enjoyed. As you can see it was on full registration and used frequently. So at least one has survived.
