Thanks for giving the GT-Four some much deserved attention. As I commented on Mark's piece, they really are an underappreciated WRC legend. The WRX and EVO seem to get all the attention (especially as road cars), but it was the GT-Four that led the way in the WRC. In terms of a single model, the ST185 is unrivaled in it's success. The EVO may have picked up more titles, but that was across multiple evolutions. It was a great shame that Toyota did what it did with the ST205 and was turfed out. How would the Celica have continued to evolve into the late nineties I wonder? Maybe that's what makes the WRX and EVO more popular today? I've read TTE wanted to switch to the Corolla anyway, so perhaps it's a moot point... Group A was a great era though, and spawned some great road cars such as the GT-Four and its contemporaries in both rally and touring cars. Here's my ST185 Group A Rallye. Build #138 of 150. 100% original and only one owner prior to me.
