Would this be an example of 'restored'? Bought as an almost basket case in 1990, this 1978 Leyland Mini 1275LS was a lot worse than it looked in the 'before' pics. Completely rusty floors including the boot, sills and the back of the front guards also corroded, an engine needing a rebuild and metallic paint the consistency of sandpaper. A couple of mates in the Queensland Mini Club and I stripped it right back to bare metal, had it sandblasted and then re-assembled using as many of the original parts as we could. We never deviated from how it was hatched from the Sydney factory at Enfield. The original Queensland green and white plates were renewed with the same number, so it is pretty well still how it was in August 1978, (or when first registered in January 1979..).
