I reckon I've already got a quartet of affordable classics in the Elite, Freeway, 1800 and Mini, from the BMC/Leyland stable. All very usable, reliable and not expensive to own and operate. However, I would love to add an FE Holden Special sedan, like my first car, and an Austin 1800 Ute. When they were new, I always thought that if I had to buy a car to last me the rest of my life, a WB Statesman would fit the bill. Forty years later, I still think I would have made the right decision - bullet-proof, smooth and a great, effortless, long legged, (thirsty) cross-country traveller.
