As Retro has pointed out, the Comet represented remarkable value, and it came with the more prestigious Mercury nameplate. These are comparisons with the Falcon, Corvair and Valiant for 1960. The Comet wagon shared the same wheelbase as the Falcon wagon, unlike the sedans. (Sorry if we're getting away from the compact Fairlanes, DrJohn)
