Great article Mark I have a June 77 928, about 164 off the assembly line, gradually restoring her, and she is a 5 speed. Also have an 87 S4 manual which is a rippa car and quite quick even by todays standards, in fact it was the fastest sports car in the world in 87 clocking over 171mph on the salt flats USA.
