Had to take a bit of a break this week but had a chance to take a look at the pistons and bearings on one cylinder (#8). Bearing is down to the copper although the crank is fine. Markings suggest it's 010 (so 10 thousands oversize?) Piston is in good shape as is the cylinder wall which is great. It's going to need new rings, the oil rings in particular are gunked up. Since the rod bearing is close to stuffed, I will pop the main caps and take a look at those. I was hoping to get away with leaving those undisturbed but there is enough damage to warrant further inspection.
