hey madmuz. i have a telly like that. purchased it in 98, worked great for 4-5 years then nothing. took it to a tv repair man and he told me told me the manufacturer put in a chip so that it would register 2,000 on/off pushes of the power button, then it would fail. he then told me that he would put in a curcuit board that the TAB uses as their tellys last right through its operating life until you smash it. still have that telly in the bungalow and it still works fine with a set top box.. maybe the car industry may use the same technique. who knows. but working for a ford deaslership odd things happen to certain modules for no reason or another. sdometimes customer related problems (splicing into hs can bus etc) but every now and again, you get this from a module that just doesnt fail. hmmmm...?
