I suppose one of the biggest race driver promotions in Australia was the Brock Specials. Brock would have to be one of the biggest promoters of Holden performance cars like Shelby was to the Ford Mustang. Both not only promoted the product but improved and modified the cars to meet their standard of a real drivers car. That's until Brock had a falling out with the infamous polariser. Interesting Brocks last race car entered at Bathurst was entered as a Brock not a Holden so was the feud with Holden. I have seen this car and it has no Holden badging on it at all.
