Great review JW, thank you. I'm always reminded of the circa-1965 Corvair built and raced by Frank Gardner and later Allan Grice, which dominated local Sports Sedan racing to such an extent in the 1970s that CAMS changed the rules to ban it. The key to its success was being allowed to mount its Chevy V8 ahead of the rear axle line rather than behind it, so it was mid-engined. Effectively a Formula 5000 open-wheeler with a roof and doors!
