The Gold Coast Vee Dub Club's May 2012 Swap n Show meet has come and gone, and it was a great day had by all, and very successful all-round. Our BlueBug looked the part and did its best to look wonderful, and we had lots of comments and convos with other enthusiasts and onlookers, about bugs in general, their own and ours. All were especially in praise of our BlueBug's originality and u********* state, almost as if it has come from the factory. It was very heartwarming to see that people have 'got' our philosophy - no modifications, no 'personal touches' (read stickers, hangy things, aftermarket bits), no add-ons that weren't there when this thing rolled out of Wolfburg in 1961. And we took home not one, but SEVEN raffle prizes!! Including some bug wiper blades, panic straps, and bonnet rubber, as well as 3x bottles of Adelaide Hills wine and a Brit VDub mag! Lots of fun and a great time. I think our bug held its own and looked very cool.
