The extreme was firmly in the minds of some designers - this was taken from a 1931 magazine article - "Shall We Come to THIS?". Cab-forward indeed 30 years ahead of Issigonis. The rear engine V8 layout gave a heap of passenger space allied to brown pants handling. Tjaarda designed this Sterkenberg concept and came up later with the production Lincoln-Zephyr of 1935 with a conventional layout.
