Cars was started off in May 1954 and lasted until January 1957 - just under three years. I've got all the copies, plus an annual Road Test issue, which I think was the only one they printed. Many of the road tests were taken from Mechanix Illustrated, and the Australian ones from local newspapers such as the Argus. Ian Fraser who went on to big and better things in the UK with Car Magazine wrote some of their road tests, including the Mark 1 Zephyr which I could almost recite word for word to my parents after we bought one... Here's a selection of covers including the first and last. Perhaps the subject on the cover of the last issue was the reason it folded!
