This is the photo I posted about a year ago on this same Forum. Can Dave Burrell shine any light on why Ascort wasn't a success ? My Dad took me to the showing of the car back in 1959 or thereabouts, I would have been 12 years old, and the Ascort on Display looked pretty special up close. Like the Karmann Ghia it may have been referred to as a 'Poor man's Porsche'. David, why wasn't it a hit ?
