Well there is a name, which is most associated with the Goggomobil, particularly the Dart which was a Buckle invention I believe. He must have been one of the pioneers in the use of fiberglass in Australia. Can't say I ever saw his coupe at the time and certainly never seen one subsequently. Looks like it took its design queues from the early AC Ace before Shelby got to it. I grew up in Victoria at that time and maybe not too many Buckle coups were sold outside of NSW although plenty of the Goggo's made it south. I wonder if the Buckle enterprise gave the Bolwell brothers the idea to get started, which they did in Melbourne in 1962.
Yes Silvercloud, I've often wondered if the Buckle was the catalyst for the Bolwell brothers to have a crack at building sports cars, which they did with considerable success. After Campbell Bolwell launched his first model, the Mark IV, in 1963, Bolwell went on to produce more than 650 cars, kits and bodies during an industrious 11-year period. The Nagari is understandably revered as the company's finest achievement. It looked fabulous, particularly the roadster. And with its Ford V8 muscle, was very successful in production sports car racing throughout the 1970s.
