The Parts Book tells the story.... The Belmont probably got the wrong seats when they were delivered to the car on the assembly line. We had a Morris 1100 delivered to the dealer with green seats and blue door trims. The owner didn't want them changed, so it was left like that. Baskets of parts were delivered by overhead conveyers to the racks in front and behind the vehicle. The blokes installing the seats aren't going to stop the line because of the wrong colour - it should have been noticed in the rectification department. In those days these sorts of errors happened in all factories.
