Joe, I know I'm a little late to the Vauxhall Cresta party but thank you for putting this article together so many years ago. The Cresta (inaugural Armstrong 500 overall winner) was always on my radar as an interesting car, but other than seeing two cars owned by the same man that regularly displays at The Adelaide/Echunga All British Day each year, I have not come across any others let alone had the opportunity to drive one. That is all about to change, after purchasing a 1963 tagged PA series 3 Cresta this week at auction. The car is light blue with white roof and side flash, has the hydromatic and blue leather interior :) It's all well used but has been hiding in a shed under a thick layer of windswept dirt and spider webs for over 40 years (assumed from the last rego label). We're heading to central Vic tomorrow to collect the car and I'm just a bit excited, they are a cool looking car, and I can't wait to experience the 12-port headed version of the bigger sideplate 6. Fingers crossed the Cresta fires up and is a good goer. Wish us luck!!
