Away the chassis went to be fitted to the body next week. The body is looking good all rust free and sealed. The gentlemen in the shop complimented the chassis, which is reassuring for a non-mechanic to hear. I gave the bonnet hinges a good clean before taking them to the paint booth beneath the olive tree and then the drying oven in my gazebo. After the chassis and body are one again and before painting I will take it to the exhaust shop. My next job at home will be to complete the seat repairs. The plan is to weld the broken springs which acted to locate the squab. Then I will use the clips and pliers that I bought to insert new springs parallel to and between the saggy springs, leaving the originals in place.
