GMH had a few problems when naming their various open Vauxhalls in this country. The 1937-38 Vauxhall GY 25 used the Chev sloper body shell giving it the Opel look by leaving the pillars in place - hence the Convertible Coupe. Before the war, they had a multitude of roadsters and tourers, but ended up in 1939 calling any open Vauxhall a Caleche, as seen here with Bob Menzies and Larry Hartnett in the back of one. This even extended to the very first of the E-Series, but we all know this as the Vagabond, even though their marketing department called it a Sports Tourer. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the main reason for the confusion - marketing people get in the way.
