This is the upright removed from the passenger side - the top ball joint sounded like a gun shot when the ball joint spreader released it. Had to employ a rattle gun to get the nuts loose on this. I think on the other side I'll start with that top ball joint as it was a bit of a mongrel to get off with the upright flapping about untethered at the bottom. The bottom ball joint...I bought a ball joint press but it just won't budge. Wailed on it with a hammer for a while but had to give up. I've taken this one to somebody with a hydraulic press to get the replacement ball joint installed.
