Rover's iconic and groundbreaking P6 was released and went on to become the first car to win the European Car of the Year award a year later in 1964. Also, Aston Martin launched quite clearly their most iconic model, the DB5, as did Buick with their European influenced Riviera, Chevrolet with their striking C2 Corvette Sting Ray, Lancia with their gorgeous, rorty, rally-winning Fulvia (was in fact their first product to win the World Rally Championship), Ford UK with their sporting and nimble Lotus Cortina, and Triumph with their Michelotti-designed, six-cylinder 2000. 1963 was also the genesis year for Lamborghini when they launched the 350 GT, and Vauxhall launched the Viva, GM's supposed answer to the Mini. And I mustn't forget the launch of Alfa Romeo's definitive 105/115 Series line-up. Wow, Mark! I have to say, 1963 certainly must have been an amazing year for new cars. You are so lucky to have been born that year. And I envy you for that. Cheers, mate, and a happy 58th to you!
