My 1200cc '69 Toyota Corolla back in mid 1972. The only performance clue was the Tacho mounted on the dash. During the 1st SA 'Off The Street Meet' in October 1972 the car was placed in the 18 second bracket following (3) qualifying times starting in the 19's, then the 18's, and finally the 17's. Took out a 2600S Torana in the bracket final after he jumped the FLAG* at the start - taking me the full 1/4 to catch and pass him. *Lights failed at the end of the day.
