I don't know who decides where line markings go but I hope they're smarter than the SFB who chose to position a pedestrian crossing at our local shopping centre. One end connects to the forecourt kerb, which is fine, while the other end leads pedestrians straight into the path of cars entering and leaving the carpark. Dumbest thing I've ever seen.
