Such a shame the Group 2 factory-backed V12 versions (below) developed by Broadspeed in the 1970s failed to live up to expectations in the ETCC. They were impressively fast on occasions but also terribly unreliable. Their fragility could well have been solved with a different approach, as displayed by Tom Walkinshaw with his immensely successful XJ-S V12 Group A cars in the 1980s. TWR's engine builder Allan Scott pinpoints where the Broadspeed cars went wrong, in his excellent hard-cover book about the TWR/XJ-S era. It's a great read.
