Timely indeed, DB. My brother bought the first Valiant ute in our district in April or May 1965. He traded in a 1960 Zephyr ute, and the Valiant was certainly an advance. The colour was called Alabaster, a sort of light beige. Almost too much power around wet paddocks, but at the time there was a prolonged drought in western Victoria, almost as bad as the current dry spell. The AP6 came in handy in feeding out sheep in those conditions as seen here. Also seen here with my elder brother's Cortina GT and my FE Holden. No allegiance to any company in this family, and I had started work with BMC! Also handy for rescuing younger brothers when the FE failed to proceed. The AP6 ute was traded in for a new Mark II Austin 1800 because of a growing family.
